Barnhart is seeking a Senior Transactions Counsel to lead legal aspects of commercial transactions, including contract reviews, negotiations, disputes, and M&A support. This hands-on advisor partners with branches, sales, operations, and senior leadership to balance risk with growth and win work.

The role requires strong legal judgment, business acumen, and the ability to develop a high‑performing contract team, drive process improvements, and align legal strategy with Barnhart's objectives.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor degree is required.
• Active law license is required.
• 10+ years in commercial contracting or related law practice.
• Experience managing commercial disputes and directing outside counsel.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high‑performing team.
• Proven ability to influence and align management around risk.
• Deep understanding of contract law, terminology, and liability issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CLM systems, and AI tools.

• Serve as the primary legal partner to branch and regional leadership on transactions from pursuit through project closeout.
• Advise on risk before commitments—scope, pricing, indemnity, and terms.
• Build risk literacy in the field through training on contract fundamentals and high‑risk provisions.
• Provide timely, decision‑ready answers and visit branches as needed.
