Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging seeks a Senior Transactions Counsel to lead all legal aspects of its commercial transactions, including contract review, negotiation, and dispute management. This role partners with branches, sales, operations, and senior leadership to balance risk with growth opportunities.

You will direct outside counsel on uninsured disputes, support mergers and acquisitions, and build scalable contract standards and templates.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree and active law license are required.
10+ years of experience in commercial contracting or related legal practice.
Experience managing commercial disputes and directing outside counsel.
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
Ability to influence management around risk and align with business goals.

Responsibilities

Lead review, negotiation, and drafting of commercial contracts including MSAs and NDAs.
Manage disputes and litigation, direct outside counsel, and oversee settlements.
Oversee contract process end-to-end and develop contract standards and playbooks.
Lead contract review team and drive efficiency with process improvements and AI tools.
Partner with risk management on coverage and claims strategy.
