Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) Vernon State Hospital is seeking a Training and Development Specialist IV to lead complex training programs, design rosters, ensure policy compliance, and coordinate curriculum updates with state and federal standards. The role requires strong instruction, documentation, and collaboration with hospital leadership.

You will manage workshops, ensure timely training records, and support disaster response or COOP initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field is preferred.
• Three years’ experience developing policies, reports, or curriculum materials.
• Three years’ experience conducting and developing training.
• Three years’ supervisory or lead role.
• Three years’ experience with computer database systems and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and design training rosters and track facility training compliance (95%).
• Monitor class participants for policy compliance and complete documentation.
• Teach CPR, TIPS, and possibly Van Driver Training; maintain required certifications.
• Facilitate workshops; prepare and submit training reports for regulatory standards.
• Maintain CTD curriculum as policies change and reflect CMS/TJC requirements.
• Utilize TIMS to document staff training activities and ensure data integrity.
