Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections seeks a Training & Development Coordinator Senior (Integrated Leadership Services) to lead the design, development, and delivery of leadership training for supervisory and management staff. The role emphasizes instructional expertise for in-person and virtual formats and alignment of curricula with agency practices.

The position may involve travel to multiple training locations and Telework eligibility is determined by policy and needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of correctional practices and leadership paradigms.
• Knowledge of the adult learning model and effective in-person and virtual facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated competence in design, development and delivery of training.
• Demonstrated skills using computer and computer software.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers training and organizational services to Department of Corrections’ supervisory and management personnel.
• Evaluates training curriculum and training needs of target audience and aligns these with agency business practices.
• Telework eligibility for this position is determined in accordance with agency policy and operational needs.
• The incumbent may also be required to travel to additional training locations to support agency training programs, operational activities, and instructional delivery requirements.
