Job summary

The City of Austin seeks a Training Specialist Senior to lead and coordinate training activities, developing curriculum and delivering job-specific training to support departmental initiatives.

You will design needs assessments, select optimal training approaches, create materials and assessments, deliver training, and manage schedules and records across sites, with up to 60% telework available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job and 3 years of technical training experience.
• Experience substituting education with work experience up to 4 years allowed.

Responsibilities

• Designs and performs needs assessments to analyze training needs.
• Surveys training techniques and materials to select delivery methods.
• Researches training offerings and feasibility of use.
• Develops training materials, visuals, and curricula.
• Develops assessments of staff skills to guide training strategies.
• Delivers instructor-led training sessions.
• Coordinates schedules and maintains participation records.
• Produces training media using computer and video technologies for on-demand use.
• Analyzes laws and policies to design curricula for trainees.
• Conducts surveys to measure training effectiveness.
