Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Trailer Mechanic II to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment. Under routine supervision, you will troubleshoot issues and ensure fleet readiness.

The role requires hands-on skills with fuel systems, air brakes, electrical and drive trains, plus DOT/FHWA inspections. You must supply basic tools and be able to work nights or weekends as needed. The company offers benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with 2 years in semi-trailer maintenance or equivalent
• At least 1 year of DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase via toolbox program
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts, including nights/weekends

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in preventative maintenance and standard repairs on trailer equipment (fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brakes, etc.)
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate repairs to manufacturer specs
• Complete work orders and follow SRT and warranty guidelines
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring trailer technician trainees
• Participate in OEM training for OE repairs
• Maintain safety procedures and professional communication with customers and JB Hunt personnel
