Job summary

Trails Have Our Respect (THOR) in Omaha seeks a Development & Construction Manager to lead trail development from planning to handoff. You will coordinate with land managers, partners, and THOR leadership to drive projects on time, on budget, and to high standards.

You’ll collaborate with the Executive Directors and program teams to align projects with THOR’s mission, ensuring quality construction, compliance, and transparent reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or significant demonstrated professional experience in project management, community planning, or construction management.
• Five+ years of clear project management experience.
• Proven experience creating and managing construction schedules.
• Proven experience creating and managing construction budgets.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.
• Clear writing and verbal communication without relying on AI.

Responsibilities

• Project & Construction Management from incubation to final closeout.
• Execute project pipelines through design, bidding, construction, and handoff.
• Oversee contractors, engineers, and field crews; monitor quality and progress.
• Coordinate permitting, land-use agreements, and environmental clearances.
• Create and adjust construction schedules; manage timelines against budgets.
• Develop line-item budgets; track expenses and reconcile invoices.
• Prepare internal and external reports for leadership and funders.
• Support grant applications with data, timelines, and documentation.
• Maintain open communication with stakeholders and partners.
• Integrate operations with maintenance and programming handoffs.
• Assist in major trail enhancements and sustainability improvements.
