Job summary

Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District seeks a senior planning professional to manage complex traffic engineering and transit facilities planning studies. The role directs staff or consultants, develops project staffing timelines, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to advance planning initiatives.

The position focuses on short-range and long-range planning, CEQA/NEPA compliance, and liaison with multiple agencies, with responsibilities for preparing reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or a closely related field; A Master’s degree desirable.
• Ten (10) years' full-time recent position related experience in traffic engineering, transportation facilities planning, or design, or a closely related field. Four (4) years of which must be in project management.

Responsibilities

• Directs planning studies, complex traffic engineering, and facility planning projects.
• Leads and supervises staff or consultants on projects.
• Interacts with internal staff and outside agencies to exchange transit planning information and data.
• Prepares recommendations and informational reports for boards, staff, and public groups.
• Represents the Director of Planning in his absence at District meetings and with public agencies.
• Prepares scopes of work for consultants; coordinates consultant selection and contract administration.
