Job summary

The City of Littleton seeks an experienced Senior Traffic Technician to join our Public Works & Utilities Department. This role maintains and advances the city’s traffic infrastructure, including signals, detectors, signs, markings, and lighting.

It requires independent work and team collaboration to improve safety and mobility for residents. Key duties involve troubleshooting complex systems, installing/repairing equipment, and assisting on special projects like traffic surveys and signal

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in installing and maintaining traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings, or related fields.
• IMSA certifications listed in qualifications.
• Must have a valid CDL and driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic signal equipment and related devices (cabinets, controllers, MMUs, LEDs).
• Perform underground locating of utilities and fiber/cabling installations.
• Design, fabricate, and install traffic signs and pavement markings per MUTCD.
• Layout crosswalks and lane markings; manage sign and marking materials and equipment.
• Assist with special projects and city projects, including surveys and traffic counts.
