Job summary

The City of Littleton, CO is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Technician to support the Public Works & Utilities Department. This full-time, non-exempt role covers traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, and communications infrastructure, with opportunities to troubleshoot and advance the city’s transportation network.

Ideal candidates have municipal traffic experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience with installing and maintaining traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Expert in signal repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• IMSA certifications listed in minimum qualifications.
• CDL B with air brake; ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled work on traffic signal control equipment including CCTV PTZ cameras, detection cameras, and controllers.
• Underground locating of traffic, electric, and fiber facilities as UNCC Tier 1 member.
• Monitors performance of traffic devices using Centracs software.
• Designs, fabricates, installs, and maintains traffic signs and pavement markings per MUTCD guidelines.
• Maintains road markings and operates striping equipment for lane and bicycle markings.
• Performs maintenance on solar and wired signals and diagnoses signal malfunctions.
• Assists with special projects and city projects including temporary signage and traffic control.
