Job summary

The City of Littleton is seeking a Senior Traffic Technician to support the Public Works & Utilities Department. The role covers traffic signal maintenance, signs, pavement markings, and communications equipment across the city’s transportation network.

Ideal candidates will have municipal traffic experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The position is full-time, with overtime eligibility and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in installing/maintaining traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings.
• IMSA certifications listed above are required or strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with MUTCD standards and traffic control devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance of traffic signal control equipment.
• Monitor and maintain CCTV/PTZ cameras and detection systems.
• Design, fabricate, and install traffic signs and markings per MUTCD.
• Operate and maintain fiber optic and wireless communications.
• Maintain asset records in Cartegraph and prepare reports.
• Assist with special projects and road safety improvements.
• Operate street striping equipment and paint/thermoplastic markings.
• Ensure safety procedures and DOT/CDL compliance.
