Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking an experienced electronics technician to diagnose malfunctions in solid-state and vacuum circuitry, repair and upgrade traffic signal and traffic/revenue control systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain equipment both inside and outside, and will prepare test equipment for field service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience, plus the ability to obtain a Texas CDL within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment.
  • Must obtain the Texas CDL or operator's license within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots electronic systems to diagnose problems and performs repairs.
  • Repairs floodgates, water circulating systems, and monitors flood control systems.
  • Installs, alters, repairs, and maintains metering and recording equipment in water/sewage plants.
  • Maintains records/logs of time and materials used in maintenance and repair.
  • Inspects and repairs traffic/revenue control, signal, alarm, and data communication systems.
  • Wires traffic-control cabinets and performs preventive maintenance of electro-mechanical and electronic equipment.
