Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Traffic Project Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering team in Lansing, Southfield, or Grand Rapids, MI. You will analyze traffic data, develop signal timing plans, and support roadway and intersection studies to deliver safe and efficient mobility for communities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, apply industry standards, and help mentor junior staff while contributing to the design of traffic control devices and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• 5+ years of traffic design experience preferred.
• PE license required; PTOE is a plus.
• Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD; knowledge of Synchro, VISSIM, Open Roads, HSM and HCS.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering fundamentals to support project design teams.
• Develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects.
• Create drawings from sketches.
• Ensure designs comply with company and client standards.
• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Research and apply code provisions to design.
• Perform QA/QC on design methodology and calculations.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
• Prepare proposals for professional services.
