Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our Lansing, MI area team (also in Southfield or Grand Rapids). You will analyze traffic data, develop signal timing plans, conduct studies, and support the design of traffic control devices.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, 5+ years of traffic design experience, a PE license (PTOE a plus), and proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro, and VISSIM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• 5+ years of traffic design experience highly preferred.
• PE license required; PTOE is a plus.
• Prior experience with MDOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering fundamentals for technical support of project design teams.
• Develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects.
• Create drawings from sketches.
• Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Research and apply code provisions to design.
• Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
• Prepare or review scopes of work and budgets, and schedule assignments.
• Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
