Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation seeks a Traffic Maintenance Operator II to install and maintain traffic control signs, markings, and parking meters. The role includes operating a range of equipment and may lead a team, providing training and guidance on proper use of tools to ensure safety and compliance.

The position requires knowledge of MUTCD standards and experience with traffic maintenance duties, including snow removal as needed. Benefits are offered by the City.

Qualifications

• Experience operating traffic control equipment or related maintenance tools.
• Ability to train and direct seasonal and subordinate staff.
• Familiarity with division policies and MUTCD guidance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain traffic control signs, markings and related devices according to MUTCD and city policies.
• Lead and supervise seasonal staff; provide training and direction as needed.
• Perform equipment inspections, minor repairs and daily reporting of work performed.
