Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager to lead the NC traffic practice from either Charlotte or Raleigh with a hybrid schedule.

You will grow the traffic engineering practice through analyses, feasibility studies, modelling, and studies for NCDOT and municipal clients, supervising cross‑functional teams and ensuring high‑quality work across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in engineering with traffic design background.
• Registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.
• Experience with traffic engineering software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS, TransModeler).
• Prequalification with NCDOT Level 1 & 2 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager for traffic engineering projects.
• Conduct traffic analyses, crash analyses, feasibility studies, and transit projects for NCDOT and municipal clients.
• Oversee traffic studies and traffic impact reviews.
• Support design-build or other traffic engineering projects as needed.
• Lead intersection and corridor improvement studies and safety analyses.
• Coordinate with authorities, sub-consultants, and clients on project design and implementation.
