Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer (Regional/TB&T Transportation Management Plan) to oversee transportation management planning and support large-scale projects across multiple facilities. The role is based at 4 World Trade Center and requires leading traffic engineering efforts for planning, design and redevelopment programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or Urban Planning.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering including planning studies and operations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead, manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and traffic analysis tools.
• Working knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO Green Book.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for transportation management plans and coordinate with PA stakeholders.
• Lead traffic engineering roles for planning, design and construction at PA facilities.
• Manage staff and consultants, ensure design documents meet standards.
• Develop and manage scopes, budgets, schedules for roadway projects and cost estimates.
• Apply traffic operations concepts and ITS knowledge to analyze capacity and control.
• Participate in internal and external meetings.
• Prepare staff cost estimates and review consultant proposals.
• Maintain records of project agreements, finances, reports and documents.
