H&H is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Traffic Engineer/Traffic Modeler with five+ years of professional experience to be part of our transportation team. This position will provide traffic engineering capabilities in support of our Southern District operations, with potential for additional responsibilities in our growing southern regions including North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas. The successful candidate will provide traffic signal design, traffic analysis, signing and pavement marking design, and assist with design efforts for the Transportation group. A strong background in Florida DOT and County design policies and procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide traffic signal, signing, and striping design, and serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on signalization and S&PM plan sets.
• Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software; prepare traffic impact studies.
• Oversee the creation of engineering documents, design reports, and variation/exception reports.
• Support local and regional offices within the company.
• Coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications among multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Perform internal quality control procedures.
• Market services to current and prospective clients; assist in the creation of response letters and technical proposals/presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college.
• Florida Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain one.
• PTOE certification is a plus.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of FDOT plan preparation criteria and design standards.
• Understanding of other transportation disciplines and their relation to traffic design.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to train and mentor entry-level staff.
