Senior Traffic Engineer/ Traffic Modeler

H&H is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Traffic Engineer/ Traffic Modeler with five+ years of professional experience to join our transportation team. This role supports our Southern District operations and may expand to additional regions including North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas. The successful candidate will handle traffic signal design, traffic analysis, signing and pavement marking design, and contribute to transportation project designs. A strong background in Florida DOT and County design policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design traffic signals, signing, and striping, and serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on plan sets
• Conduct intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic; prepare traffic impact studies
• Develop engineering documents, design reports, and variation/exception reports
• Support local and regional offices within the company
• Coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications among multidisciplinary teams
• Perform internal quality control procedures
• Market services to clients and assist in preparing response letters and technical proposals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
• Florida PE license or the ability to obtain one
• PTOE certification is a plus
• Minimum five years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of FDOT plan preparation and design standards
• Understanding of other transportation disciplines and their relation to traffic design
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to train and mentor entry-level staff
