Apex Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Traffic Engineer to lead transportation projects and expand our traffic engineering services across public and private clients.

The role requires independent technical work, collaboration with project managers, and mentoring of junior staff. Flexibility to work from multiple offices in ND/MN or remotely within 250 miles; in-person meetings are expected. PTOE certification, PE license, and 5+ years’ experience are preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to be licensed in North Dakota and Minnesota within 6 months.
• PTOE certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of traffic engineering and transportation planning experience.
• Experience with ND/Minnesota public agency projects is preferred.
• Strong project management, written and verbal communication skills.
• Traffic modeling experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, Vissim, and similar software.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsabilidades

• Lead traffic operations studies (corridor, multi-modal, traffic impact, and comprehensive plans).
• Perform traffic engineering calculations, analyses, and design tasks.
• Write technical specifications, reports, and communications for diverse audiences.
• Lead design efforts as engineer-of-record for traffic and transportation projects (traffic control, signals, signing, markings, ITS).
• Collaborate with technicians to assemble complete engineering plans.
• Mentor and oversee junior staff; participate in project budgets and schedules.
• Support business development and client interviews; prepare project proposals.
