Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer / Business Developer in New York City to lead and support a range of transportation projects, combining planning, design, and client service to deliver impactful mobility solutions.

Ideal candidates bring a PE license, 15+ years in transportation engineering including 8+ years in project management, and familiarity with NYDOT/CTDOT/NJDOT. The role offers a hybrid work environment with collaboration in-office three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY, NJ, or CT is preferred.
• PTOE and/or RSP certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation planning studies, traffic impact analyses, and safety assessments.
• Manage resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Mentor staff and support business development with proposal preparation.
• Collaborate with roadway and structural engineers on iterative design processes.
• Represent the organization at professional events and public meetings.
