Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer/Planner to lead corridor and multimodal studies across the Dallas–Fort Worth region. You will guide projects from conception through delivery, mentor teammates, and grow STV’s Texas practice with cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

You’ll work with TxDOT, NCTCOG, and municipalities, applying travel‑demand models, GIS, and visualization tools to shape mobility investments. Texas PE license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Planning, or related field.
• 11+ years of transportation planning/traffic engineering experience.
• Texas PE license.
• Experience leading corridor, transportation planning, traffic operations, safety, multimodal, or transit studies.
• Ability to apply travel demand models, GIS, and visualization tools to solve problems and support decision-making.
• Collaborative leadership style with project management and mentoring experience.
• Strong writing, presentation, and client relationship skills.
• Experience with traffic signal design or ITS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead corridor, mobility, transportation master planning, traffic impact, safety, and multimodal studies for state, regional, and local clients.
• Develop travel demand models, traffic forecasts, growth projections, and scenario analyses using VISUM, TransCAD, ArcGIS, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL-based datasets.
• Conduct traffic operations, safety, and microsimulation analyses using HCM, HSM, Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, and related platforms.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations that clearly communicate technical findings to clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff, support proposals, and contribute to STV's Texas transportation practice growth.
• Collaborate with roadway, traffic design, ITS, transit, environmental, and planning professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
