Job summary

ISG, a national multi-disciplinary firm, is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join the Transportation team in Des Moines, IA. This in-office role supports collaboration across ISG offices, mentorship, and client-focused traffic projects serving state DOTs, cities, and private clients.

You will lead traffic data collection, plan designs, and studies, while building client relationships and providing technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• PE licensed, required
• PTOE certification, preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect traffic data, perform intersection evaluations, complete traffic and corridor studies, and conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
• Lead projects in traffic related design including traffic signal and roundabout plans, roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, construction staging and traffic control plans
• Prepare preliminary and final designs and develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Build and strengthen client relationships by actively listening and understanding their goals, priorities, and expectations
• Act as a technical resource within the organization, providing expertise and guidance on transportation projects
• Serve as a mentor and leader for local internal ISGers that demonstrates a high degree of professionalism
• Support additional initiatives and responsibilities as assigned to contribute to team and organizational success
