Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Project Manager in Des Moines, IA to lead traffic engineering projects. You will design signal plans, prepare sequencing and traffic control plans, and guide ITS interconnects for urban and rural intersections.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform safety and traffic impact studies, and collaborate with clients and agencies to deliver practical, compliant solutions. A PE license and strong modeling skills are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• 8–10 years in traffic engineering or related fields.
• PTOE or RSP1 certification, or ability to obtain.
• Familiarity with MUTCD and DOT standards.
• Proficiency with traffic analysis software and modeling tools.
• Experience with DOT, county, and municipal projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager, Lead, or Task Lead on traffic projects.
• Design and prepare traffic signal plans for intersections.
• Prepare construction sequencing, pavement markings, signing, and traffic control plans.
• Design roadway lighting plans and ITS interconnects.
• Conduct traffic impact and safety analyses and planning studies.
• Provide technical guidance and QA for studies and designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support practice areas.
• Build relationships with clients and internal teams.
