Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to support our Traffic Engineering and Safety practices, primarily based in our Des Moines office, with flexible consideration for other Iowa offices including Muscatine.

You will lead traffic and safety projects, design signal and roadway systems, perform analyses, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with agencies and clients to deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required; MSCE is a plus.
• 8–10 years in traffic engineering, transportation planning, safety, or ITS.
• Iowa PE license (or eligible).
• Familiarity with MUTCD and local agency standards; microsimulation tools a plus.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Project Manager, Lead, or Task Lead for traffic and safety projects.
• Design and prepare traffic signal plans, intersection and roadway lighting plans, and ITS infrastructure.
• Conduct traffic impact studies, signal warrant analyses, and safety studies.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control reviews on studies and designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with client and agency representatives.
