Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic & ITS Team in New York City, Albany, Parsippany, Syracuse, or Buffalo. You will lead complex transportation projects, apply advanced analyses, and guide project delivery.

The role requires a PE license and 10 years of experience, with Master’s preferred. You’ll mentor junior staff, collaborate with clients and public agencies, and help shape the next generation of traffic engineering professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive traffic engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with traffic operations analyses, modeling, and design.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical lead for complex transportation engineering assignments.
• Perform and oversee advanced traffic engineering analyses, including operations studies, forecasting, simulation, and multimodal analyses.
• Lead large‑scale transportation studies and redevelopment efforts, coordinating with teams, consultants, and public agencies.
• Support airport roadway and corridor studies, and network‑level evaluations.
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, providing technical oversight and QA/QC review.
• Support proposal development, client presentations, and technical discussions with clients and public stakeholders.
