ATCS, Inc. in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead transportation planning studies from start to finish in a hybrid role requiring four onsite days per week.

You will deliver traffic operations analyses and communicate findings across agencies, guiding budgets and project milestones. The ideal candidate holds a PE license, 6+ years of experience, and deep familiarity with HCM/HSM methods and Virginia tools including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, Vissim, and SIDRA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of HCM and HSM traffic analysis methods.
• Experience with Virginia traffic modeling tools: HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, Vissim, SIDRA.
• Experience with VDOT TOSAM and Forecasting Guidebook.
• Ability to represent ATCS with client agencies and partner firms.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and technical teams to meet milestones.

• Perform roadway intersection, interchange, and corridor transportation planning studies from start to finish.
• Deliver traffic operations and safety analyses to support projects.
• Communicate technical information during multi-agency study meetings.
