Essential Job Functions:

We are hiring a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer for our transportation department. The ideal candidate will work on state, municipal, and private projects, collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical staff, and be enthusiastic about teamwork.

• Coordinate planning and permitting of traffic/transportation, land development, and infrastructure projects
• Conduct traffic analysis for impact studies
• Oversee field staff collecting traffic and road data
• Perform preliminary traffic reviews at project concept stages
• Apply engineering knowledge and advanced mathematics
• Draft and review reports including traffic impact and parking studies
• Use engineering software (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.) for design documents
• Prepare proposals, review invoices, and manage project budgets
• Lead the preparation and modification of engineering documents
• Supervise or coordinate work of staff engineers and interns
• Perform field inspections as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Primary Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or 10+ years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineer License (Pennsylvania)
• Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible, organized, accountable, and dependable
• Familiarity with PennDot standards and procedures
• Ability to manage staff and multiple projects, and develop budgets

Additional Qualifications:

• 5+ years in traffic design, impact studies, signal warrants, parking and driveway design
• Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, MUTCD; AutoCAD and MicroStation are a plus

Education:

• BS or MS degree
