Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Trade Compliance Officer in Reston, VA to lead day-to-day export compliance activities and manage license applications across multiple regimes. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure full regulatory alignment with ITAR/EAR and internal policies.

The role requires a strong background in export administration, interaction with U.S. government entities, and experience coordinating with external Trade Compliance consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, International Trade, Law or related field required.
• Minimum of 12+ years of export administration experience with aerospace/defense/government entities.
• Experience dealing with U.S. Government entities and international customers or brokers.
• Experience working with external Trade Compliance consultants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications (DSP-5, DSP-73, DSP-61, TAA, MLA, etc.).
• Maintain accurate product classifications (ECCN, ITAR, HTS, Schedule B).
• Work with outside Trade Compliance consultants and legal counsel.
• Maintain TC records in compliance with US export regulations.
• Lead training curriculum development and audits of compliance processes.
