Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Senior Trade Advisory Associate, Classification to join our team in Chicago. You will manage HS classification projects, work with clients and internal stakeholders, and ensure accurate classification under HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN guidelines.

You will analyze regulations, document processes, and maintain client data while staying current on CBP rulings and trade programs. A Bachelor's degree and Customs Broker license are required, with 2–4 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Licensed Customs Broker required; JD or graduate degree a plus.
• 2–4 years in classification of commodities including apparel, machinery, and automotive.
• Proficiency with HTS; Schedule B and ECCN experience a plus.
• Experience reviewing CBP, USTR, and related trade information.

Responsibilities

• Manage HS classification service for Flexport and clients.
• Classify products under HTS and similar schedules.
• Own HS classification projects with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze and assign HS classifications for imported products.
• Audit classifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Stay informed on CBP regulations and rulings impacting classification.
• Maintain client databases with product descriptions, SKUs, and classifications.
• Document and improve classification processes and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders.
• Support Trade Advisory infrastructure and administrative tasks.
• Prepare client deliverables including memos and presentations.
