Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Senior Trade Advisory Associate, Classification to lead HS classification projects for clients. You will classify products under HTS and global schedules, manage data transfers, and audit classifications for accuracy, while staying current on CBP regulations.

The role requires a Customs Broker license and 2–4 years of classification experience, with strong writing and stakeholder communication skills. Onsite work in the United States is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
• Licensed Customs Broker required; JD or graduate degree a plus.
• Trade compliance experience preferred (in-house, brokerage, or consulting).
• 2–4 years in classification of commodities (apparel, machinery, automotive).
• Proficiency with HTS; experience with Schedule B and ECCN is a plus.
• Experience reviewing government regulations and rulings (CBP, USTR, LexisNexis).
• Understanding of FTAs and GSP; ability to navigate complex rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage HS classification service for Flexport and clients.
• Classify products under HTS and global schedules with stakeholders.
• Own and manage HS classification projects end-to-end.
• Research and assign HS classifications for client imports.
• Audit classifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Stay updated on CBP regulations and rulings.
