Job summary

STV Incorporated in Bellevue, Washington is seeking a Traction Power Engineer to join our Systems team. You will support the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of traction power systems for rail and transit projects.

The role requires 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in traction power or related infrastructure, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and safe power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in traction power or rail systems.
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating electrical designs with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering of traction power systems for rail and transit projects.
• Develop and review traction power system designs including substations, DC/AC distribution, switchgear, transformers, and protective devices.
• Perform load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit, grounding, and performance analyses.
• Prepare calculations, specs, reports, drawings, and layouts.
• Support design through conceptual to commissioning phases and interfaces with other rail systems.
• Review vendor submittals, shop drawings, and technical data.
• Assist with equipment selection and technical evaluation.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, and system integration.
