Job summary

Picarro, a Santa Clara-based leader in optical spectroscopy data solutions, seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive hardware, firmware, and cloud software programs. You will manage cross-functional teams, schedule planning, and risk mitigation across lifecycle stages, coordinating with engineering, marketing, and supply chain.

The role emphasizes NPI, supplier management, and sustaining product delivery with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field; MS preferred.
• 8+ years PM experience with hardware/software/embedded products.
• 3+ years PM for scientific, analytical, or medical instrumentation.
• Proficient with Gantt charts, dashboards, and PM tools.
• Experience collaborating with Marketing, Engineering and Operations.
• NPI experience for hardware/software products and manufacturing hand-off.
• Experience managing supplier relationships across product lifecycles.
• Coordinate hardware build schedules (EVT, DVT, PVT) with agile processes.
• Familiar with Agile principles in product development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Manufacturing process experience a plus.
• PMP or Agile certification a plus.
• Knowledge of instrumentation/spectrometry/gas sensing technologies a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive systems/hardware/software planning on a yearly/quarterly basis.
• Collaborate with engineering managers to manage programs across lifecycle.
• Scope projects, allocate resources, define milestones, and manage commitments.
• Lead the delivery of hardware, firmware, and software against program schedules and report risks.
• Collaborate with supply chain to mitigate risks from long-lead components.
• Manage deliverables from consultants and external vendors.
• Lead cross-functional teams, facilitate scrums, and resolve obstacles.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives.
• Report project progress to managers and executives with transparency.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure high-quality releases.
• Coordinate cloud software releases and handoff to manufacturing with product and operations.
