Job summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology in the US is seeking a Lead Technical Program Manager to drive large-scale software programs across Commerce and technology platforms. You will plan complex initiatives, coordinate schedules, manage dependencies, and communicate with executives.

The role requires 7+ years of program management experience, deep knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methods, and strong leadership in a media-technology environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing large-scale, strategic software development programs.
• Proven ability to facilitate effective communication across disparate teams.
• Expertise in Agile or Waterfall program management methods (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile).
• Strong planning, delivery, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with executive-facing presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution and delivery of highly complex programs with cross-functional impact.
• Develop plans and timelines, accounting for all dependencies.
• Ensure transparency of progress, risks, and issues; drive mitigation and contingency planning.
• Communicate status via dashboards, presentations, and direct stakeholder updates.
• Clarify roles, responsibilities, and accountability across teams.
• Perform capacity planning for teams.
• Coordinate activities across multiple technology teams with TPM colleagues.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of program domains, architecture, tools, and deployment practices.
• Track and report key program metrics.
• Partner with Product to advance intake pipeline and triage programs for senior leadership.
• Drive discussions with focus on outcomes and business value.
• Navigate TWDC to drive progress even when scope is unclear.
• Model leadership, collaboration, and innovative thinking.
• Define and manage ceremonies at the team-of-teams level.
• Advise executives on feasibility, risks, and trade-offs.
• Influence cross-functional partners without direct authority.
• Leverage AI tools to design scalable delivery processes and governance.
• Proactively track budgets and coordinate with vendors.
• Mentor other TPMs to raise program management maturity.
