Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to coordinate the battery energy storage systems (BESS) program across AWS data centers.

You will drive end-to-end delivery, align cross-functional partners, and provide leadership with clear visibility into capacity, timelines, and critical decisions. You will interface with engineering, procurement, finance, and regional energy teams, building scalable reporting and executive-ready materials for VP/S-team reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the BESS program lead in coordinating end-to-end program delivery across front-of-the-meter (FTM) and behind-the-meter (BTM) BESS work streams consolidating status, dependencies, and critical path items into a single source of truth.
• Establish and run program mechanisms including weekly status updates, monthly business reviews (MBR), and work stream syncs with engineering and cross-functional partners.
• Build automated reporting and KPI dashboards — capacity unlocked (MW), deployment milestones, spend tracking, and key blockers.
• Prepare leadership-ready materials including page-zero summaries, capacity-focused drill-downs, and decision documents for VP and S-team reviews.
• Track deployment readiness across BESS programs including integration requirements, utility interconnection, permitting, site planning, OEM qualification status, and commissioning schedules.
• Partner with engineering teams (PGS, DCE) to maintain awareness of technical solutions and translate engineering decisions into program, capacity, and timeline impacts.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
