Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Senior Planner to develop monthly financial plans and forecasts, working cross-functionally with merchants to maximize sales and profit. You will drive inventory turns, lifecycle optimization, and alignment with department strategy across multiple channels.

The role focuses on turning insight into action, leveraging analytics to optimize product life cycles and collaborating with allocation partners to ensure the right products are available at the right time.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in planning/forecasting roles.
• Understands financial metrics including sales, margin and inventory turns.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with retail math.
• Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and clear communication.
• Able to work cross-functionally and independently; good at stakeholder management.
• Proficient with planning software and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for financials and department forecasting to align with department strategy.
• Develop optimal assortment and strategic flow plans to drive profitability.
• Build monthly forecasts with Sales, Margin and Inventory targets.
• Collaborate with Buyers to develop bottom-up forecasts for the department.
• Identify opportunities and risks from trends; adjust plans and promotions as needed.
• Oversee inventory plans and allocation for new club openings and seasonality.
