Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Planner in Marlborough, MA to develop monthly financial plans and forecasts across departments. You will work cross-functionally with merchants to maximize sales and profitability while optimizing inventory turnover and assortment strategy.

The role requires 2–5 years’ experience, strong analytical and Excel planning skills, and the ability to communicate data-driven recommendations. This hybrid position reports to the planning team and supports club openings.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ experience preferred.
• Understands financial metrics including sales, margin, inventory turn.
• Strong problem solving, retail math, and analytical skills.
• Communicates credibly and concisely; presents data-driven recommendations.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally; coach and onboard others.
• Advanced Excel skills and planning software experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop monthly financial plans and forecasts aligned to department strategy.
• Forecast and manage department performance with merchandising partners.
• Maximize sales and profit while turning inventory efficiently.
• Oversee allocation and ensure right products in the right channel.
• Partner with Buyers to create monthly bottom-up forecasts for sales and margin.
• Evaluate opportunities/risks and suggest markdowns/promotions.
• Manage inventory plans for new club openings and demand forecasts.
