Job summary

NextEdge is seeking a Telecommunications Technician II (Top Hand) to lead complex tower projects. You will guide the crew at height, ensure safety and quality, and supervise advanced installation tasks, testing, and documentation.

The role requires strong technical skills, significant field experience, and the ability to mentor others while maintaining compliance with OSHA and company standards on all assignments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years of telecommunications construction experience with leadership.
  • NWSA TTT2 certification required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
  • Ability to obtain additional certifications (RF awareness, rigging, fall protection, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex tower construction and maintenance on-site.
  • Act as the point leader on the tower, guiding team members for safety and efficiency.
  • Oversee grounding, coax/fiber handling, capstan hoist, and connector installation per guidelines.
  • Conduct sweep, PIM, and fiber testing to validate performance.
  • Maintain OSHA and company EHS protocols on the tower.
  • Mentor junior technicians and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and hoists for lifting tasks.
  • Interpret drawings and RFDS to ensure accurate tower installations.
  • Collaborate with Foreman and stakeholders to resolve challenges.
