Job summary

Patriot Machine, Inc. is seeking an experienced Journeyman Toolmaker to build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling, fixtures, and machine components in a U.S.-based aerospace-friendly shop in Missouri.

The candidate will read engineering drawings, interpret GD&T, and work with engineers and production teams to meet exacting specifications. The role requires formal toolmaking training or apprenticeship, hands-on machining experience, and the ability to work independently while

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Tool & Die, Toolmaking, Machining, or equivalent journeyman training.
• Demonstrated experience in a professional machine shop or tool room.
• Ability to analyze complex machining requirements and adapt to meet them.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tools, fixtures, gauges, and machine components.
• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and GD&T specifications.
• Perform precision machining and fitting operations to tight tolerances.
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
• Measure and inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision inspection equipment.
• Work from limited supervision while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams to resolve tooling and manufacturing issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate job status, issues, and completed work.
