Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is hiring a Tooling Technician in Sylacauga, Alabama. The role focuses on ensuring tooling meets process expectations and requires dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of related experience, a trade certification, and the ability to read and follow technical instructions. You will operate in a 3-shift schedule with OT opportunities in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Trade certification required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate oral and written instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Able to work a 3-shift model: Midnight, Days, Afternoons, and OT as needed.

Responsibilities

• Compute dimensions and tolerances to set up machinetools.
• Position, secure, measure and lay out stock for machining.
• Assemble/disassemble parts to test tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation.
• Work with suppliers to ensure tool expectations are met.
• Analyze manufacturing repairs and adjustments to formulate solutions.
