Job summary

CSP Innovations, Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking an experienced Tooling Supervisor to lead and coordinate the tooling team, oversee mold and die maintenance, and drive safety and efficiency on the plant floor.

You will coach, train, and develop employees, implement preventive maintenance, and collaborate with engineering on new tool designs and program launches, applying lean principles to minimize downtime and optimize costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years in tooling, tool setting, or mold maintenance in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of tooling design, mold/die installation, and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the tooling team.
• Provide coaching, training, and development to team members.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Oversee tool setting, installation, adjustment, and removal of molds and dies.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance for plant tooling.
• Troubleshoot tooling-related production issues to minimize downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with engineering and production on tool designs and programs.
• Implement continuous improvement using lean principles.
• Maintain records of tooling changes and maintenance.
• Prepare reports on tooling performance for leadership.
