Job summary

Adient plc is seeking a Tooling Supervisor to oversee Tool and Die Makers and Trainees in our Battle Creek area. You will coordinate tooling activities, assist in tool design for reliability and safety, and liaise with customers on engineering matters to meet production goals.

The role requires prior supervision of skilled trades, Tool and Die experience, and a Journeyman card. You will drive continuous improvements and work with multiple vendors to close tool issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • Supervising skilled trades in a tooling environment.
  • Experience training Tool and Die workers.
  • Background as tool and die maker in a metals plant.
  • Experience with progressive and transfer dies.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate tooling issues daily and prioritize to maximize press room productivity.
  • Manage tooling personnel across required activities.
  • Participate in tool design to improve reliability, quality and safety.
  • Evaluate and report on new manufacturing technologies and opportunities.
  • Assist in product design activities to optimize productivity and costs.
  • Serve as liaison with customers on tool design and engineering matters.
  • Ensure tooling changes meet engineering changes and build schedules.
