Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Supplier Tooling Engineer-Stamping to lead the tooling program across stamped metal, castings, extrusions and trim. You will ensure tooling is compliant, documented and production-ready at each milestone, while mentoring SQEs on tooling evaluation and supplier engagement.

Based in the USA, you will coordinate tool awards through PPAP, runoffs, CAPA, and tool-asset management, partnering with Purchasing and Program Management to protect budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• 8+ years in supplier tooling or tooling engineering.
• Strong communication and supplier relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Own tooling program from award to production runoff and PPAP.
• Track tool build status and milestone adherence.
• Conduct tool trials and first article inspections.
• Evaluate dimensional and process capability data from tool-sourced parts.
• Drive corrective action on tooling non-conformances.
• Oversee tooling asset register and coordinate tool-level ECIs.
• Mentor SQEs on tooling evaluation methods and supplier engagement.
