Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Supplier Tooling Engineer‑Plastics to lead the vendor tooling program for injection-molded plastics and soft trim. You will own tooling compliance, asset tracking, and runoff readiness, while mentoring SQEs on tooling evaluation methods and supplier engagement.

The role requires 8+ years in tooling, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple programs in a fast-paced launch environment. Includes a competitive compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree or equiv. or previous working level experience.
• 8+ years in supplier tooling, tool engineering, or supplier quality with mold/die/fixture design.
• Excellent communication and supplier relationship skills.
• Deep experience across tooling types for injection-molded plastics.
• Ability to identify root causes and drive corrective action using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa.
• Understanding tooling program metrics and milestone tracking.

Responsibilities

• Manage Slate’s vendor tooling program from tool award to production runoff and PPAP.
• Track tool build status, runoffs, and capability data; drive corrective actions.
• Oversee tooling asset register and implement tool-level ECA changes.
• Support capacity verification and collaborate with Purchasing and Program Management.
