Job summary

DuPont Spectrum, Minneapolis location, seeks a Senior Tooling Engineer to interface with tooling suppliers and drive tooling P&L, tool delivery timeliness, and performance metrics for Spectrum MN tooling transactions.

The role supports sales and estimating with DFM analyses and technical expertise, leading tool design reviews and providing tooling knowledge to NPI and production teams.

Qualifications

• 10 years of tool design experience.
• 5 years tool building experience.
• Proficient at blueprint reading, SolidWorks and Pro-E.
• Proficient at geometric tolerance interpretation.
• Mechanical engineering degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all facets of tool procurement including design and construction, reducing mold iterations and samples; lead new technologies with teams.
• Manage and report tool delivery dates, aiming for on-time or early delivery.
• Provide engineering and manufacturing recommendations for projects and quotations; improve quote capture rate.
• Establish and implement continuous improvements metrics for tooling suppliers and report to management via a scorecard.
• Manage mold rework schedules and communicate with relevant team members.
• Provide technical support to Sales and both external and internal customers.
• Develop common tool design standards for Minneapolis and Connecticut locations.
