Job summary

Baker Hughes Company is seeking a Tool Maker II to build, repair, and maintain precision tooling and fixtures for production. You will work with Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, CNC Machining, Quality, and Production teams to improve safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting new product introductions and automation projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in tool making or related fields, strong ability to read drawings and GD&T, and experience with CNC programming and precision

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Tool Making, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in tool making, mold making, fixture building, machining, or precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, optics).
• CNC programming and setup experience preferred; experience with automation and NPI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and fit production tooling, fixtures, gauges, and precision components from drawings.
• Repair, troubleshoot, and modify tooling to meet production needs and improve reliability.
• Operate manual and CNC machines to fabricate components.
• Respond to tooling-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Automation, and Design Engineering teams on tooling solutions.
• Support automation projects by fabricating and modifying machine components and robotic tooling.
• Verify tooling dimensional accuracy using precision instruments and inspection equipment.
• Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and contribute to continuous improvement.
