What We Do

Are you looking to utilize your Title Exam and Title Search experience on the West Coast with a renowned title company? First American Vacation Ownership offers a unique remote opportunity.

This role involves working on varied and complex assignments, mentoring less experienced team members, and expanding knowledge of state requirements.

What You'll Do:
  1. Examine chain of title primarily for residential properties; may include commercial or industrial properties.
  2. Perform complex title examinations requiring high expertise.
  3. Abstract and analyze records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to determine ownership, legal restrictions, and verify legal descriptions.
  4. Write title products based on procedural guidelines.
  5. Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
  6. Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
  7. Respond to routine questions from the team.
  8. Supervise special projects as assigned, including delegating responsibilities.
  9. Escalate issues or concerns promptly to the department manager.
  10. Potentially have customer contact.
  11. Adhere to Vacation Ownership's Services Golden Rules and embody First American values.
  12. Note: This role does not include direct reports.
What You'll Bring:
  • 4+ years of experience in title exam and searching.
  • Title Agent license preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of legal terms in title documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions.
  • Commercial experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
  • Solid administrative skills.
  • Proficiency with industry and company systems, tools, and applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay Range: $26.21 - $34.95 Hourly

Note: This range is an estimate and pay is based on various factors including experience, skills, and location.
