Are you someone looking for an opportunity that will allow you to use your past Title Exam and Title Search experience on the West Coast while working for a world-renowned title company? If so, First American Vacation Ownership has a unique remote opportunity available.

Works on assignments that are varied and complex requiring breadth and depth of experience. Actively mentors less experienced team members and acts as a resource to provide input and knowledge. Has increased knowledge of state requirements.

What You'll Do:
  1. Examines chain of title primarily for residential properties but may expand into commercial and/or industrial
  2. Performs title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of title expertise
  3. Abstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records
  4. Writes title products based on the interpretation and application of procedural guidelines
  5. Provides underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
  6. Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members
  7. Answers routine day-to-day questions received from the team
  8. Responsible for supervising special projects assigned by the department manager. Tasks may include delegating responsibilities to other team members
  9. Immediately escalating issues/concerns to department manager
  10. May have customer contact
  11. Consistently acts within accordance of the Vacation Ownership's Services Golden Rules and exhibits core First American values
  12. Will not be responsible for any direct reports
What You'll Bring:
  • 4+ years of experience with both title exam and title searching
  • Title Agent license preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents
  • Able to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders
  • Commercial experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Research skills
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible to changing demands
  • Solid administrative skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry and company operating systems, tools, and applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Pay Range: $26.21 - $34.95 Hourly

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
