Job summary

Amazon.com Security ACTI Engineering seeks a Software Development Engineer to architect and build mission-critical distributed systems powering threat intelligence capabilities. You will influence platform architecture, design scalable data pipelines, and deliver reliable systems across Amazon's global infrastructure.

You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and own end-to-end delivery, including production readiness and on-call duties, to defend against evolving threats at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience on large-scale systems.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own and architect critical components of ACTI's threat intelligence platforms, making key technical decisions that impact system scalability, performance, and reliability
• Design and implement distributed systems that process petabytes of security data
• Lead the development of service-oriented architectures that integrate complex threat intelligence workflows
• Drive technical decisions around data modeling, storage solutions, and processing frameworks
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and operational excellence
• Mentor junior engineers on system design, coding practices, and architectural patterns
• Partner with threat intelligence analysts to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Building some of the largest scale intelligence tooling on earth to defend against evolving security threats
• Production incidents and being part of an on-call rotation
