Job summary

Amazon ACTI Engineering seeks a Software Development Engineer to architect and build mission-critical distributed systems powering threat intelligence. You will shape platform architecture, design scalable solutions handling vast security data, and lead cross-team initiatives that defend against evolving threats.

You will mentor junior engineers and own the full software lifecycle from design to deployment, including on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Own and architect critical components of ACTI's threat intelligence platforms, making key technical decisions that impact system scalability, performance, and reliability
• Design and implement distributed systems that process petabytes of security data
• Lead the development of service-oriented architectures that integrate complex threat intelligence workflows
• Drive technical decisions around data modeling, storage solutions, and processing frameworks
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and operational excellence
• Mentor junior engineers on system design, coding practices, and architectural patterns
• Partner with threat intelligence analysts to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Building some of the largest scale intelligence tooling on earth to defend against evolving security threats
• Production incidents and being part of an on-call rotation
